I am Jessa Joy Escalante,24 years old ,midwifery graduate(license midwife), from Philippines, recently working in Cyprus, I am working as caregiver to a bedridden women, me and my employer only stay in a flat and I am the one who manage everything like household chores(cleaning,laundry,etc.), I perform morning care: giving her bath, changing her diapers,changing her bed sheets, brushing her teeth, comb her hair, cutting and painting her nails, giving simple exercises, preparing nutritious food and feeding her, giving her daily medicines, assisting her physiotherapist and her private doctor when they come. I take vital signs if necessary and do first aid when she choke and have difficulty of breathing and during emergency cases,and if the doctor is not here, thats why my experience in hospitals helps me a lot. Last 2006-2010 I worked in Lying-in clinic and hospitals (public and private), in hospitals I assigned in Emergency Room, delivery room, obstetric ward, recovery room, operating room, neonatal intensive care unit, surgical ward, medical ward, pediatric ward, and handled different kinds of patients (infant to adult)with their illness. In Lying-In clinic, I performed immunization for infants and children, simple suturing of wounds, cleaning of wounds, insertion of intravenous fluid, assisting delivery and caring of the infant (maternal and child care), giving medications, suctioning, putting oxygen. I experienced how to deal with different types of people with their diseases. This experienced helped me, and mostly in my present work especially when emergency and the doctor is not here. I am friendly, jolly and easy to approach,caring caring person, and have ability to manage things. I love reading books, dancing and listening to music, I love to care infant to adult and I am happy for that..

I enjoy my education cos I learned a lot and it gave me more knowledge, I took my midwifery licensure examination and I passed it in 2006 and when I studied Basic Caregiver Course for OFW and Health and First Aid at Works Regulations (include CPR) training for First Aid and CPR we had written actual examination and they awarded me as excellence in the class and I got license.
