My name is Leah. I am currently working fulltime in a Nursing Care Home since May 2011 up to present as a care assistant or caregiver. I am a qualified care assistant and social worker here in United Kingdom. I took formal training for more than a year in healthcare field and had my workplacement or on-the-job training in Nursing Care Home for 13 months which has 100 room accomodations and offers dementia and nursing care . I am a graduate of Higher National Diploma (HND) Social Services (qualification for social worker) and Higher National Certificate (HNC) Social Care (qualification for care assistant)in Edinburgh Telford College, UK. I worked with frail elderly, bedridden clients and in dementia care unit. I treat my clients as my own grandparents and tried my best as I can to give quality care for them. Ensure the care center’s resources are used appropriately. • Clean and maintain equipment used by clients/relatives (e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc.) Ensure the care center is kept clean and tidy, in line with the company’s attention to detail philosophy. • Ensure full privacy and dignity of the client. • Assist clients who need help during meal times (be aware of swallowing difficulties, dietary requirements etc.) Assist with serving of food / drinks as requested/required.
